RO Membrane Cleaner - Acidic Powder

Title Tag: Powdered RO Acidic Cleaner | Membrane Descaler for Calcium & Metal Oxides

Description: Highly concentrated acidic powder for RO membrane cleaning. Removes calcium carbonate, sulfate scales, and iron deposits. 100% active ingredients to reduce freight costs.

Product Overview

RO Acidic Cleaner (Powder) is a low-pH, solid-state formulation designed to dissolve inorganic mineral scales and metal oxides from Polyamide RO, NF, and UF membranes. By shipping in powder form, it provides an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative to heavy liquid chemicals while maintaining the same cleaning potency as global industry standards.

Key Applications

Recovery of flux lost due to calcium carbonate (CaCO₃) scaling.
Removal of iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn) fouling from membrane surfaces.
Periodic maintenance for high-hardness brackish water systems.
Off-site or Clean-In-Place (CIP) membrane restoration.

Application Guidelines

Dilution: Dissolve 10-20kg of RO-Acid 800 per 1,000 Liters of water (1-2% Strength).
Circulation: Circulate at low pressure (40-60 psi) for 30-60 minutes.
Temperature: Best results achieved when cleaning solution is heated to 25°C - 35°C.

Packaging: 10kg / 25kg HDPE Pails with moisture-proof liner.

RO Membrane Cleaner - Alkaline Powder

Title Tag: Powdered RO Alkaline Cleaner | Bio-fouling & Organic Matter Remover

Description: High-pH powdered RO cleaner for removing biofilms, silt, and organic colloids. Contains surfactants for deep membrane pore cleaning. Cost-effective powder concentrate.

Product Overview

RO Alkaline Cleaner (Powder) is a robust, high-pH cleaning agent formulated to penetrate and emulsify organic contaminants, biological slime, and colloidal silt. Its synergistic blend of surfactants and dispersants breaks down the sticky "extracellular polymeric substances" (EPS) that cause irreversible membrane pressure drops if left untreated.

Key Applications

Cleaning RO membranes fouled by surface sea water or treated sewage.
Removal of biological biofilms and organic silt.
Pre-cleaning step for membranes contaminated with oils or greasy residues.
Restoring systems with high differential pressure (dP) due to organic loading.

Application Guidelines:

Dilution: Mix 10kg - 20kg of RO-Alk 900 per 1,000 Liters of permeate/DI water.
Soaking: For heavy biofouling, a soak time of 60-90 minutes is recommended to allow the enzymes/surfactants to penetrate the slime.
Warning: Do not exceed 45°C during cleaning to protect membrane integrity.

Packaging: 10kg / 25kg HDPE Pails.

FAQ Section

Should I use the Low pH (Acidic) or High pH (Alkaline) cleaner?

It depends on the type of foulant. Use Low pH Cleaner to remove inorganic scales like Calcium Carbonate or Iron oxides. Use High pH Cleaner to remove organic fouling, oil, silt, and biological slime. For severe fouling, a two-step cleaning (High pH followed by Low pH) is often recommended.

How often should I clean my RO membranes?

Cleaning is recommended when normalized permeate flow decreases by 10-15%, or when the pressure drop increases by 10-15%. Waiting too long can cause irreversible damage to the membrane surface.

Is this cleaner supplied as a liquid or powder?

We offer both liquid concentrates and powder forms. Liquid cleaners are easier to mix, while powder cleaners are more cost-effective for international shipping. Both are formulated with buffers to protect the membrane rejection layer during cleaning.
